Privacy Policy
Diary Companion helps you keep a handwritten journal and, after you capture a page, offers a calm on-device perspective. This policy explains how the app handles information.
Summary
- Your diary pages and handwriting are processed on your device for recognition and reflection.
- We do not require an account to use the core experience.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- As configured for App Store nutrition labels: Data Not Collected for developer data collection.
Information we process on your device
When you photograph or select a journal page, Diary Companion may access the camera or photo library with your permission. Handwriting recognition and reflection run locally on your device so you can read a private outside perspective without sending your life to our servers for that core flow.
Content you create (photos of pages, transcripts, and reflections) stays under your control on your device unless you deliberately share or export it using features provided by iOS or the app.
Information we do not collect
For the core Diary Companion experience described in our App Store privacy nutrition labels, we do not collect diary content, contact information, location, identifiers, or usage analytics for our own servers. We do not use your journal entries to train advertising models, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Permissions
- Camera / Photos — to capture or import journal pages.
- Other system permissions appear only if a future feature needs them, and only with your consent.
Children
Diary Companion is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us in a way that conflicts with this policy, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
